Mohammed Abdul Hannan

Ph.D., P.Eng., MASME, MSNAME, MIEB, AMRINA

Naval architect and educator with over fifteen years of experience in teaching, research and programme leadership across Bangladesh, Singapore, the United Kingdom and Canada. My research combines numerical and experimental fluid mechanics with data-driven methods, spanning ship and offshore design, marine renewable energy, biofluid mechanics and sustainable engineering, and has been funded by Lloyd’s Register, the Royal Academy of Engineering, UKRI and industry partners. I have led UG naval architecture degree programmes at Newcastle University and UBC, supervised research students at Master’s and doctoral level, and worked with industry as a consultant in marine hydrodynamics and seakeeping.

Outside work I volunteer with community organisations, currently the Association for New Canadians, and previously the Singapore Heart Foundation, the National Kidney Foundation and the National Volunteer & Philanthropy Centre in Singapore. I have served on an elementary school council in St. John’s, Newfoundland, and have been a certified occupational first aider since 2016.
